More than 50 programs and service providers that help older adults age-in-place will converge in Somerville for Elder Fair in April.
Hosted by Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services (SCES), Elder Fair is a free health and wellness expo that provides information and screenings for older people and their caregivers. The event will take place at the Holiday Inn Boston-Bunker Hill (30 Washington St. in Somerville), from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12.

Providing options that help older adults live safely, in the setting of their choice, is central to the mission of SCES. Elder Fair provides access to a wealth of useful information about government resources, elder advocacy groups, and service providers. We’re excited to offer the following at Elder Fair:
- Free consultation on eligibility for government assistance by SCES Age Info professionals.
- Free screenings for blood pressure, medication, and more.
- A chance to connect with health and home care organizations.
- Raffles, vendor giveaways and more.
Elder Fair will also feature the SCES Adult Family Care (AFC) program, which provides a tax-free stipend for live-in caregivers who assist eligible clients with personal and medical needs. AFC serves much of the Greater Boston Area, along with Essex County and most of Middlesex County.
