Find what you need among a wide range of supportive services, as well as information and advice, to help older people and people living with disabilities remain safe and independent in their own homes.

SCES services are available to older residents of Cambridge and Somerville, as well as their caregivers.  Some services are open to adults with disabilities who are age 16 or older, and to residents of the Greater Boston area.

The SCES Information and Resource Center is a free clearinghouse for aging and disability issues.  Knowledgeable staff assist older people, people with disabilities, caregivers, professionals and researchers access information on a wide range of topics.  Staff can also connect callers directly with a range of home care services and programs administered by SCES.

Advice & Information

Our Aging Information Center provides free advice and guidance, and serves as a one-stop access point for SCES programs.

Caregiver Support

Providing care that helps loved ones stay at home can be a major commitment. We offer several programs that help people meet the challenges of being a caregiver.

Health & Wellness

Prevention is often the best cure. SCES offers several programs that help safeguard health and enhance quality of life of older adults and younger people with disabilities.

In-Home Programs

Does your plan for Aging-in-Place require a little help? Our In-Home programs help people live in the setting of their choice safely and comfortably.

Nutrition & Meals

We offer Meals on Wheels and other nutrition programs to help older adults and younger people with disabilities remain healthy and independent at home.

Protective Services

Elder Protective Services works to alleviate abuse or neglect of older adults (60 and older), working with elders, their family, and other community agencies.

Private Care Management

Community Living Options is a private program that offers expert advice, support, and care management for older adults and families facing health and aging challenges.

Referrals

Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services accepts online referrals from providers for the Home Care and Adult Family Care programs.

LGBT Resources

Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services is committed to meeting the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) older adults. We offer a monthly LGBT dinner and have developed a local resource guide specific to the needs of LGBT older adults.
