Home Delivered Meals

Somerville Cambridge Elder Services delivers breakfasts, sandwich and salad meals, and meals for re-heating Monday-Friday. Frozen meals are also available for recipients needing meals over the weekend.

Most of our meals are catered by City Fresh Foods, a Boston-based vendor that specializes in fresh and nutritious food, made from ingredients you can pronounce. Our Chinese meals are catered by the Greater Boston Chinese Golden Age Center.

Our menus are prepared under the supervision of a dietitian and provide at least one-third of the recommended daily nutritional requirements for older adults.

In addition to delivering food, our drivers provide a daily wellness check for recipients. Many tell us they enjoy the daily visit.

A voluntary $2 donation per meal is suggested for eligible participants. Meals are $8.25 apiece ($8.65 for special diets) for recipients who do not meet eligibility requirements. Medically tailored meals are available and can be accommodated with a clinician’s written authorization.
