Join SCES in Helping Local Elders on Giving Tuesday 2017

Dear Friend of Elder Services,

In one year the cost of living in the Boston area has risen incredibly. Compared to the state average, the cost of living index in our service area is 31% higher than the average in Massachusetts, and it is 72% higher than the national average. Low-income older adults who depend on our services are the last people in Somerville and Cambridge who can afford to make up that 31% difference.  This #GivingTuesday, we hope you will help us bridge that gap.

We are most concerned about meeting the basic needs of our older neighbors, including access to quality health care, housing, food and the supports and services which allow them to live in dignity and in the setting of their choice.

This #GivingTuesday, you can help us meet those needs one person at a time. By supporting one of our many programs with a gift of $25, $50, $100 or more, you can ensure that your older neighbors continue to have access to Meals-On-Wheels, Money Management, Friendly Visitors, Medical Advocates, and much more.

Unlike our Home Care and Adult Family Care programs, these vital needs are not met by state or federal support alone.

To become an Elder Services supporter and help us bridge the 31% gap, please make your tax-deductible donation today!

Sincerely,

Donald Donato

Director of Planning and Development
