SCES and senior centers offering Grab-and-Go lunches

Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services and the local senior centers are collaborating to offer Grab-and-Go lunches for older adults.

The program will provide cold sandwich lunches for local older adults. The lunches are available for a suggested $3 donation for people age 60 and over and their spouses, or dependents with disabilities of any age. Other people under the age of 60 can receive the lunch for $5.

Lunch reservations are required by 11 a.m. on the previous business day. The meals will be available at the following sites:

Cambridge Senior Center at 806 Mass Ave. Available Monday- Thursday, from 11:30 to 12:15 starting Sept. 13. Call Julie to make a reservation at 617-349-6042. Recipients may eat in the dining room or take the meal to go.

Somerville Senior Centers starting the week of Sept. 28, the lunches will be available at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays at The Ralph and Jenny Senior Center at 9 New Washington Street and Thursdays at 167 Holland St. Call 617-625-6600 to make a reservation. The lunches are to-go only.
