Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services (SCES) is a non-profit agency that supports the independence and well-being of older people in Somerville and Cambridge.
The agency operates under a local volunteer board of directors, which recently elected new officers for 2018. The new officers are:
President: Susann Wilkinson (Somerville) holds an MSW and MPH, and has done a wide range of organizational consulting, specializing in health and human services, for clients such as the Veterans Health Administration and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. An SCES board member since 2009, Wilkinson also helps facilitate the community-based initiative, Saying Put in Cambridge-Somerville.
Vice President: Elizabeth Aguilo (Cambridge) is executive director of Paine Elder Services in Cambridge. Aguilo holds an MSW and previously worked at SCES and the Cambridge Health Alliance. She has served on the SCES board since 2006.
Treasurer: Roma Mayur (Cambridge) is Vice President in the Business Banking Group of the Cambridge Trust Company. In addition to financial studies, she also holds an MSW. Appointed by the Cambridge Council on Aging, Mayur has served with the board since 2000.
Clerk: Leslie Hergert (Somerville) holds a doctorate in administration and social policy. During her career as an educator, she specialized in professional and organizational development to transform learning experiences for middle and high school students. She was appointed to the board in 2016.
