SCES thanks Cambridge Trust for supporting Holiday Fundraiser

Representatives from the Cambridge Trust recently visited Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services to discuss the impact SCES programs have in the community.

The annual holiday fund-drive to maintain vital programs at Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services (SCES) was a big success, and SCES is thanking The Cambridge Trust for supporting that effort.

The Cambridge Trust pledged to match the first $5,000 of donations for the holiday drive. Donors responded by giving 42 percent more in total donations than last year.

“We are so grateful for the support of The Cambridge Trust,” said SCES CEO Marta Corvelo. “We have several programs that rely on local donations, and we deeply appreciate The Cambridge Trust stepping up to help us provide these lifelines for our older neighbors.”

The list of SCES programs that rely on local revenue includes:

  • Emergency assistance through Little Necessities
  • Money Management assistance
  • Food security through congregate meal sites
  • Health through hospital-to-home and Medical Escort
  • In-home mental health and behavioral health support through CONNECT

This was the second consecutive year that Cambridge Trust supported the SCES holiday drive.

“We strive to support organizations that provide invaluable services within our communities. We are fortunate to partner with amazing organizations like SCES” said Cambridge Trust Vice President Relationship Manager Elda Kalivioti.
