Did you know that smoking in your apartment may result in secondhand smoke harming your neighbors? Even if you smoke with the window open, smoke travels under doors, through cracks in the walls and ceilings, and through the ventilation system. Secondhand smoke causes about 3,000 cases of lung cancer in non-smokers every year, and breathing secondhand smoke on a daily basis doubles the risk of having a heart attack.
There is no safe level of secondhand smoke. If you smoke, always step outside.
