The Cambridge Fire Department has obtained funds from the State to help Cambridge seniors make their homes safer, and will be working with the Council on Aging in this process. Trained safety instructors and COA staff will come into the senior’s home or apartment to check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, install them where needed, replace batteries if necessary, install automatic night lights where needed, and evaluate for fire safety and fall prevention issues. There is no cost to participate in this program.
